What is a Boundless Playground?

A Boundless Playground benefits children with and without disabilities by providing opportunities for all children to play together side by side. Through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), children with disabilities have gained the right to play with their typically able peers. However, the ADA's primary focus is on wheelchair accessibility. They do not address the needs of children with sensory disabilities, such as vision or hearing impairments, or developmental disabilities, such as Autism or Down Syndrome. Boundless Playgrounds enable ALL children - including those with physical , developmental, cognitive and sensory disabilities - to experience independent, self-directed play, each at his or her own highest level of ability. Boundless Playgrounds make it possible for everyone to be in the middle of play....TOGETHER.
